Watches Custom-made for champions

All great Formula 1 drivers are unique. But if you look closely, they share one common trait. They’re all born with racing in their bones. It’s a tradition at TAG Heuer to honor drivers who push themselves to the very edge of greatness. We have a long history of presenting these daredevils with exciting, avant-garde timepieces that commemorate their achievements. During the golden era of motorsport in the seventies, being rewarded with a TAG Heuer was considered to be a sign of success amongst drivers. That’s why this year, we’re presenting two of the most exciting drivers in Formula 1 today, Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez, with a pair of custom-made TAG Heuer Monaco Chronographs.

A one-of-a-kind watch for a once-in-a-generation talent
Formula 1 champions like Max Verstappen don’t come along very often. And so we’ve created a watch that’s as rare as Verstappen’s genius. Meet the blue TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph. Its sandblasted Grade 2 titanium case frames an eye-catching skeleton dial. Littered with blue touches and details like the luminescent date window and white slots, the watch is a one-of-a-kind piece for a once-in-a-generation Formula 1 driver. It even features a striking sub register marking Verstappen’s number ‘1’. Every month, when the date jumps to ‘1’, the number will be emblazoned in red. Equipped with the Heuer 02 movement, the caseback has the words ‘One of one’ above the sapphire crystal window. A nod to the fact that this one watch is made exclusively for Formula 1’s number one driver. Spot the two stars on the back? They symbolize Verstappen’s 2021 and 2022 championship wins. A truly stand-out timepiece fit for a two-time world champion.

Sergio’s new lucky charm?
More than ever this year, Sergio Pérez is a singular force who leaves everything out on the race track. That’s why we’ve made the custom turquoise TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph, just for Sergio. The skeleton dial here is black and the case is fashioned from sandblasted DLC titanium. The dark aesthetic is softened by pops of turquoise and of course, the luminescent date window. You’ll find Sergio’s initials ‘SP’ seared onto the sapphire crystal caseback, underneath a silhouette of the iconic Monaco racetrack. You’ll also notice the date, ‘29.05.22’, commemorating Pérez’s victory at the Grand Prix last year. Sergio’s motto is ‘Never give up’. His resilience is an integral part of his identity as a racing driver. And so we’ve also engraved those words onto the timepiece.

Continuing the TAG Heuer tradition
Both custom watches were presented to Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez during the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix. Apart from symbolizing the drivers’ successes, the two TAG Heuer Monaco Chronographs reflect our inseparable connection to motorsport. And our winning partnership with the Oracle Red Bull Racing team. We wish both drivers the best of luck for the Monaco Grand Prix and the rest of the season.
While the two custom timepieces were crafted just for Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez, a new version of the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph will still be available to you. If you’d like to find out more, visit here.
