At just 26, he’s already a rising star in Chinese cinema, thanks to the unparalleled success of the “Detective Chinatown” trilogy, which has swept the box office with each new release. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
His recent film, “The Breaking Ice” caught eyes in the official selection of Un Certain Regard at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. Despite his youth, Liu Haoran, armed with unprecedented talent, has been carving out his place in the international film landscape for a decade.
Bold and determined, with a flair for fashion and a passion for sports, Liu Haoran shares many commonalities with us. Notably, both harbor a shared passion for motor racing. Many Chinese people choose an english name to facilitate its pronunciation, so it’s no coincidence that the young actor picked the name “Turbo Liu”.
Liu Haoran joins the TAG Heuer ambassador in this new year of 2024, and fittingly at the start of the Chinese Year of the Dragon, celebrated on February 10th. This is evident in the photos announcing this new partnership. The young actor poses against a red backdrop, a symbol of luck and joy, with the TAG Heuer Carrera of the Dragon Year, a limited edition model (500 pieces in steel and 50 pieces in 18K 5N rose gold). A fiery design, where the dragon is etched on the back of a 100-meter water-resistant case, and its sub-dials are reminiscent of the mythical creature’s blazing gaze. A reinterpretation of the TAG Heuer Carrera’s inverted panda dial that connoisseurs will instantly recognize.
