LIFESTYLE Time Out: The TAG Heuer microverse, crafted by Tristan Blondeau

3 min

As part of our Time Out series, The Edge asked miniature model maker Tristan Blondeau to capture the TAG Heuer universe.

Beauty lies in the tiniest details. And when it comes to the intricate craft of watchmaking at TAG Heuer, the answers often lie in microns, millimeters, and microseconds. Our watchmakers use eyeglasses, microscopes and tiny instruments to make movements and dials. As a tribute to their meticulousness, we asked miniature model maker Tristan Blondeau to craft a physical representation of the TAG Heuer universe. Let’s get up close and revel in the delightful details of Tristan’s Blondeau’s art piece.

Macro to micro

Let’s begin with the setting. Tristan’s miniature TAG Heuer world has Monaco at its heart. That’s apt because TAG Heuer is the Official Watch of the Monaco Grand Prix. And motorsport is an integral part of our brand DNA. The charming recreation of Monégasque architecture is surrounded by tiny visual treats. They reflect our watchmakers’ dexterity and TAG Heuer’s passion for sport. In fact, almost every sporting element is a salute to one of our brand ambassadors. There’s a lush green tennis court, a nod to Naomi Osaka, Félix Auger-Aliassime, Denis Shapovalov, Petra Kvitovà. The golf course is a tribute to Tommy Fleewood and Chun In Gee. The water and surf spots make you think of Kai Lenny and Maya Gabeira. You’ll also notice a boat named Jack. That’s an homage to our honorary chairman Jack Heuer as well as a reflection of the brand’s glorious relationship with sailing.

The TAG Heuer touches

Once you’ve soaked in the setting, you’ll spot the mini model of an Oracle Red Bull Racing Formula 1 car wrestling Monaco’s famous hairpin. Your eye might even be drawn to a TAG Heuer boutique overlooking the racetrack. Tristan Blondeau has recreated our Chevenez factory, home to the watchmakers who craft our famous in-house Heuer 02 and other movements. It’s also a beautifully-designed structure in real life.

Everything here has been handcrafted by Tristan Blondeau, using 3D printers, paint, and his ingenuity. The refined art piece encapsulates TAG Heuer’s timeless love for craftsmanship and savoir-faire.

We’re showcasing Tristan Blondeau’s original artwork at our TAG Heuer headquarters in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
