SAVOIR FAIRE REVOLUTIONARY TAG HEUER CARRERA PLASMA: INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY AND DISRUPTIVE DESIGN
5 min
When is a new watch not just a new watch? When it represents the beginning of a new era in luxury design. Diamond has been the world’s most exclusive and alluring material for centuries, but the properties that make it so unique have also limited the way it can be used, and the results – until now. The truly revolutionary TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma, Diamant d’Avant-Garde is a masterpiece of engineering which showcases brand new possibilities in aesthetic and technical excellence, thanks to pioneering advancements championed by TAG Heuer in the field of lab-grown diamonds.
There’s no better model to push the boundaries of traditional watchmaking than one of the most iconic members of the TAG Heuer family, the Carrera – but this release is about more than a particular model. It represents a new frontier for the luxury market at which TAG Heuer is at the forefront, extending its legacy as a driving force for innovation, and marking a major milestone for the company and the watch industry at large.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma has lab-grown diamonds set into its unique case and embellished indexes. The 44mm case is made of sandblasted aluminium, perfectly complementing the unique purity of the diamond. The special polycrystalline diamond dial is one of the highlights of this new TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma timepiece. This diamond effect on the specially created dial plate is a sum of crystals being grown as one – generating yet another one diamond morphology. This represents another type of a rich CVD growth, where many diamonds create spectacular reflections and a diverse effect while representing a single diamond piece.
The key promise of TAG Heuer embracing lab-grown diamonds is rapidly expanding possibilities in avant-garde design, both visually and technically. The unique qualities of the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma are not just aesthetically alluring; the intricate engineering inside the watch is just as innovative as its external design. Equipped with the unrivalled TAG Heuer H02 Tourbillon Nanograph movement, the calibre features a ground-breaking carbon hairspring, developed in-house by the TAG Heuer Institute. Inside and out, the watch is a masterclass in the use of material.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma is just the initial offering at the beginning of TAG Heuer’s Diamant d’Avant-Garde journey. “Luxury watches should always be exciting and surprising and in tune with the times, and this new watch demonstrates exactly that.” said Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer. The result is a spectacular fusion of innovative technology and design, a dazzling interaction of complementary materials.
