SAVOIR FAIRE A Lesson in Time: what makes the École d’Horlogerie LVMH tick?

3 min

Every second counts in the renowned LVMH watchmaking programme, with expert-level training for young students selected by TAG Heuer and Zenith.

Nestled 1000 metres above sea level in a part of Switzerland known as “Watch Valley,” the École d’Horlogerie LVMH shines as a beacon of transmission and learning in luxury watchmaking. Since 2016, the refreshed programme has been installed directly at the heart of the TAG Heuer Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and provides a singular training experience for budding watchmakers, combining the expertise and excellence of LVMH, TAG Heuer and Zenith.

On the one hand (pardon the watch pun), the programme promotes the watchmaking heritage and artisanal traditions of LVMH watchmaking, and on the other, the innovative, avant-garde spirit of TAG Heuer. The École d’Horlogerie LVMH provides an original training opportunity combining in-depth study of two important manufactures and their respective DNA; access and exposure to these two Maisons as well as masterclasses organised by the Institut des Métiers d’Excellence; and CIFOM-certified teaching and certification from a renowned training institution, located at the very centre of the industry.

Carefully selected candidates — only three each year and twelve in the program in total — go through four years of training at the École d’Horlogerie LVMH. They are then able to find internships and work as watchmakers thanks to an exclusive recruitment platform and their newly-obtained, internationally-recognised diplomas. They begin the programme as young adults, and leave as watchmakers attuned to the rhythm and precision of their craft.

Here at TAG Heuer we’re thrilled to be able to promote the transmission of our savoir-faire and the development of young talent, helping to train the watchmakers of tomorrow.
