The TAG Heuer Only Watch Carbon Monaco breaks records at this year’s landmark auction.

At Only Watch 2021, the renowned biennial fundraising auction of one-off luxury timepieces, TAG Heuer’s masterpiece entry shattered bidding expectations, going for a never-before-seen sum.

Organised under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and at the initiative of Luc Pettavino, Only Watch brings together high-end watchmakers and collectors for a celebration of fine watchmaking and the industry’s capacity to make an impact. The 9th edition of this fundraising auction, which took place November 6th, 2021 in Geneva, brought in a whopping CHF 290’000.00, with 99% of profits going to support Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research, as always.

TAG Heuer’s contribution to the auction, the TAG Heuer Only Watch Carbon Monaco, blew past anticipations, going to the highest bidder for CHF 290’000.00. A specimen of visionary watchmaking, this singular timepiece pays tribute to the maison’s alluring black-coated Monaco from the 70s and brings it thoroughly into the 21st century, thanks to ingenious and skillful contributions from TAG Heuer’s collaborators.

Forged in black carbon fibre, this dark, mysterious timepiece is a thing of beauty and complexity, inside and out. Housing a Swiss-made Heuer 02 automatic chronograph and sporting a habillage adorned with no fewer than 10 types of hand-finishing, the timepiece holds a special place in the TAG Heuer legacy, linking the watchmaking heritage of our past to our present and future. We’re honoured to yet again have had the opportunity to participate in Only Watch, shining a light on our savoir-faire and a deeply important cause.
