SPORT Portuguese Grand Prix Podium for Max Verstappen

Formula 1 Season heats up with yet another podium for Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen, this time in the Algarve.

After two tense opening races in Bahrain and at Imola, the third round of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship kicked off the weekend of April 30th at the Algarve International Circuit, just outside Portimao, in Portugal. The circuit’s innovative, modular track measures at 4.684km for Formula 1 races. And in this weekend’s races around that particular track, Max Verstappen, the Belgian-Dutch sensation, stole the show coming in 2nd.

Even before the race began, it was neck and neck in the top ranks, with Lewis Hamilton holding just a one-point lead over Max Verstappen. The last time the two had faced off, at Imola, the race was marked by a red-flag stoppage (the collision between Valtteri Bottas and George Russell) as well as a Hamilton crash, before he was able to recover lost time and take second place. Their performance around the Algarve circuit did not disappoint.

Bravo, Max! See you at the Spanish Grand Prix.
