SPORT Back at Full Speed: TAG Heuer Returns to Goodwood

1min

In 2025, TAG Heuer returns to its rightful place amid the roar and spectacle, rejoining the Goodwood Festival of Speed as Official Timing Partner. The comeback also marks the launch of the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Goodwood Festival of Speed, a limited-edition creation that bridges Swiss precision and British racing legacy.

A LEGENDARY COMEBACK

It’s been more than a decade since TAG Heuer’s last official appearance at Goodwood, and the 2025 edition of the Festival could hardly be more fitting. This year’s theme, The Winning Formula – Champions and Challengers, celebrates 75 years of Formula 1®, a discipline TAG Heuer helped shape—both on the track and on the wrist.

As the Official Timekeeper of Formula 1® once again, TAG Heuer’s return to Goodwood underscores a renewed commitment to motorsport culture in all its forms. It also joins a partnership portfolio that includes Oracle Red Bull Racing, Porsche, the Indianapolis 500, and the Automobile Club de Monaco. But Goodwood is different. It’s not just a race; it’s a celebration of everything that defines the automotive universe: performance, nostalgia, engineering, and community.

TIMEKEEPING MEETS HILLCLIMB

Founded in 1993 by Charles Richmond, now the 11th Duke of Richmond, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is a modern icon. Its centrepiece, the Hillclimb, sees everything from F1® machines to classic rally cars race up a 1.16-mile incline in front of tens of thousands of fans. With themed paddocks, historic unveilings, and futuristic prototypes, Goodwood is a full-spectrum love letter to speed.
It’s no surprise, then, that TAG Heuer would choose this moment to debut a watch worthy of the hill: the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Goodwood Festival of Speed, limited to just 100 numbered pieces worldwide.

BRITISH RACING GREEN

At a glance, the watch makes its allegiance known. The dial is rendered in British racing green, a color that originated in the early days of Grand Prix racing. But look closer, and a clou de Paris guilloché texture reveals itself—a refined hobnail pattern that nods to the instrument panels of vintage sports cars.
The case, crafted in polished and fine-brushed steel, frames the 42 mm profile with confident clarity. And through the sapphire case back, the Goodwood Festival of Speed logo appears, accompanied by the engraved number out of 100.
Inside beats the in-house Calibre TH20-00, offering an 80-hour power reserve and a vertical clutch column wheel chronograph architecture, a signature of TAG Heuer’s modern mechanical savoir-faire.

WORN LIKE A RACING GLOVE

If the dial is the car’s dashboard, the strap is the leather wheel grip. The watch is secured by a perforated brown calfskin leather strap with contrast white stitching—directly inspired by the racing gloves of the 1970s. The nod is deliberate, and the material choice speaks to both comfort and style, blending retro appeal with TAG Heuer’s precise finishing standards. It is fastened by a high-grade steel pin buckle engraved with the TAG Heuer logo, engineered for durability and built to withstand the demands of real-world wear.

A PARTNERSHIP BUILT TO LAST

As Antoine Pin, CEO of TAG Heuer, put it: “Motorsport is not just about the competition—it is a cultural force. And we are honored to return as Timing Partner at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.”

With that spirit in mind, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Goodwood Festival of Speed is designed as a mechanical tribute to movement, memory, and momentum. And in true TAG Heuer fashion, it’s Designed to Win.
