At the 8th Grand Prix of the 2024 season on the legendary streets of Monaco, we gifted to The Oracle Red Bull Racing driver with an exceptional timepiece: the bold new TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Second chronograph.
A unique Watch for a Unique Driver
The TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph emerges as a beacon of avant-garde craftsmanship, intertwining the Maison’s rich watchmaking heritage with the adrenaline-fueled racing world. This advanced timepiece features an intricate “rattrapante” complication, a testament to TAG Heuer’s avant-garde engineering.
Reimagined as a modern take on the iconic Monaco, the TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph blends high-end ergonomics with daring aesthetics. The seamless integration of the case and the movement is highlighted by the extensive use of sapphire, revealing the beating heart within: the Calibre TH81-00. Crafted from grade-5 titanium, it’s a marvel of lightness, complexity, meticulousness and patience.
The 12 hours required to customize the world champion’s watch speaks for itself. Examining the chronograph hour counters, the world champion can reminisce about the years 2021, 2022, and 2023, the seasons when he was crowned “World Champion,” are displayed. This mention is also just above and is engraved on the rotor.
On the chronograph minute counter, it’s his name that is inscribed. With attention to detail, he can also spot his famous symbol, finely represented: a lion’s head. The sapphire dial showcases his number, 1. Lastly, the strap is made of black calf leather with a textile effect and red overstitching, adding an elegant touch to this unique piece.
More than a symbol of Max Verstappen’s many successes, this technological marvel perfectly reflects TAG Heuer’s close relationship with motorsport, Formula 1 and the Monaco Grand Prix, which celebrated its 81st edition in 2024.
