More than 200 cars, 50 manufacturers, 21 countries represented and a half a century of motorsport history. After two years of absence, the eagerly awaited 14th Historic Monaco Grand Prix returned to the Principality of Monaco. And it’s safe to say that this weekend lived up to all its promises. Organized by the Automobile Club de Monaco, of which TAG Heuer has long been a partner, these three days once again proved that it remains unquestionably one of the most prestigious events on the classic car racing calendar.
“Our partnership with the Automobile Club of Monaco underscores TAG Heuer’s deep-rooted connection to the world of motorsport,” said Julien Tornare, TAG Heuer’s CEO. “As the official sponsor, watch, and timekeeper of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, we are thrilled to be here in 2024, showing our passion for the universe, and we are excited to see the races take place.”

Racing legacy
TAG Heuer’s motorsport heritage no longer needs to be demonstrated. This weekend, it was highlighted when the ROFGO Racing team entered a car adorned in the iconic Gulf colors, which have previously graced special editions of the TAG Heuer Formula 1 and TAG Heuer Monaco. Later on, Adrian Newey – technical director of Oracle Red Bull Racing and TAG Heuer partner – drove a Lotus 49B, symbolizing the very special connection between contemporary motorsport and the Swiss Maison.
A special tribute to Ayrton Senna
As the event unfolded almost 30 years to the day after his passing, a heartfelt tribute was paid to Ayrton Senna, who remains to this day an ambassador for TAG Heuer and holds the record for victories at the Monaco Grand Prix, with six titles. From his beginnings in karting to his unforgettable journey in Formula 1, spectators – including members of the Senna family and TAG Heuer ambassador Patrick Dempsey – were able to admire some iconic cars that the triple Formula 1 world champion owned or drove during a special grand parade which will undoubtedly remain etched in memories.
