Watches Time Reimagined: The TAG Heuer Monaco inspired by the Stopwatch

1 min

In racing, time is the ultimate judge. And nowhere is it more scrutinised than at the Formula 1 TAG Heuer Grand Prix de Monaco, where milliseconds define greatness. To honour this high-stakes arena and its own legacy of motorsport timing, TAG Heuer presents the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch.

Inspired by Heuer’s emblematic stopwatches of the 1960s and ’70s, this 970-piece limited edition revives the sharp contrasts, bold colours, and mechanical confidence that once defined trackside precision. Back then, Heuer stopwatches were the ultimate tool: worn around the necks of pitlane officials, trusted for their readability and performance under pressure.

A LEGACY IN LIMITED EDITION

Crafted in just 970 pieces — a number that nods to the decade when these timing instruments ruled the racetrack — the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch is a tribute to Heuer’s golden era of high-precision timekeeping. With their stark red, black, and white visuals, Heuer stopwatches became essential tools for pit crews and track officials alike. This new creation revives that legacy in mechanical form.

FUNCTION IN EVERY DETAIL

A matte black circular layout floats over an opaline silver dial, encircled by a vibrant red minute track designed for absolute legibility. Subdials with sharp white indicators offer high contrast for instant readings, while the red lacquered chronograph hand injects energy and purpose.

A MOVEMENT THAT MADE HISTORY

Powering the watch is the legendary Calibre 11, a nod to the movement that made history in 1969. The crown remains on the left — a quiet rebellion against convention — framed by a square 39mm case in lightweight, black DLC-coated titanium. The vintage Heuer logo, printed in white against the black circular background, anchors the dial in its heritage and amplifies its connection to TAG Heuer’s motorsport legacy. Perforated calfskin evokes vintage racing gloves, while the dedicated box and travel pouch reinforce its status as a true collector’s piece.

The TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch is not a watch that follows the rules. It sets them.
